Broiler equipment is built around fast growth and short cycles: plenty of feeder and drinker space, and processing equipment at the end of each 5–6 week cycle. Layer equipment is built around daily egg collection: long-life feeders and drinkers, and egg trays for grading and selling. If you plan an egg business, trays and good drinkers matter more than processing equipment.
