Most duck breeds hatch in about 28 days; Muscovy ducks take about 35. Incubate at about 37.5 °C with humidity around 55–60 %, then stop turning three days before hatch and raise humidity to 70–80 %. Some breeders lightly mist duck eggs with lukewarm water once a day in the second half of incubation, especially in dry inland areas.
Duck eggs are larger than chicken eggs, so each incubator holds fewer of them than its chicken-egg rating. Tell us how many duck eggs you want to set per batch and we will recommend the right size.
Duck eggs are often laid in wet, dirty places, and the thicker shell hides bacteria. Provide clean nesting material, collect eggs often and set only clean eggs to prevent eggs going bad in the incubator.
